Objectives: Upon completion of the course, the participant will be able to
Identify the types of complaints, incidents, and regulatory concerns that commonly trigger
Attorney General investigations of long-term care and assisted living facilities.
Describe the Attorney General investigation process, including subpoenas, document requests,
interviews, and interactions with government investigators.
Recognize the role of the Indiana Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in investigating allegations of
fraud, abuse, neglect, and exploitation and identify best practices for responding to
subpoenas, record requests, and investigator inquiries.
